The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter is one of my favourite non-fiction books. It just really speaks to a topic I’m passionate about and have been thinking on for a very long time. It is written intertwined with an adventure of the author in the snowy mountains, juxtaposing his rough but natural experiences to the comforts of everyday life.

I’ve known Keith and his materials for a long time. However every time I read this book I learn something new. Keith is one of the greats.

Skin in the Game by Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a really big influence on how I do business. It helps to explain some moral concepts I’ve thought about for a long time. Particularly within the journalism and the finance industry.
It is also a really good framework for knowing when someone is selling advice that sells, as opposed to selling advice with some consequence of how that advice plays out.
Similar to the main message in both The Comfort Crisis and The Road Less Stupid, Taleb drills “in order to succeed, you must first survive.”
